Diving in the wreck C58 Minesweeper, is an excellent place to dive in Cancun at a depth of 85 feet. It was a ship of World War II originally named USS Harlequin. The Mexican Navy seized him in the 80’s and deliberately sunk to create an artificial reef. It is located in an area where frequent manta rays and large groupers are.
This current dive is recommended for experienced divers to be a little more demanding than the other dives in Cancun. During the winter months the area is frequented by migrating eagle rays. He looks up as you approach the ship and you will see upwards of 25 rays swimming above you.
It is a 2-tank dive so your second dive will take place on a reef at 55 feet (17 meters) where you can see abundant marine life and many fish.
